This bright turquoise bird housewith orange trim is well suited for its home in Venice, Florida. It sits atop a post wrapped with bamboo sticks, in the back corner of the yard. to hide a telephone pole.
I made this house just for fun and it has been sitting on the wood shop porch for the past few years. It's a bit too delicate to be out in the elements and more decorative than functional. The body is made from wood strips and cutout diamonds. Roofers flashing was folded to make the roof. The ceramic finial was a gift from Anthony Stoneware. Champagne corks were used for feet. It does have a back door that opens for clean out, should bird decide to make nest.
This is one of the first birdhouses I made to sit atop a dead pine stump near the bottom of our land.
